WHY?!

Why is there so much death in Harry Potter?! Isn't this a children's book!!! I can't take it!!!

Write a Woman

Reblogged from No More Booklikes, BYE:

Write people, real with issues.

I love this EXCEPT why does it say bella was "desperate for a husband" when she didn't even want to get married? I appreciate the balance of saying write real women-but be authentic-know & respect the story. :)

From Tumblr

"The world around me taught the thinking of inequality, separateness, and competition, and better-than and less-than. I was led to value money, a romantic partner, and success as driving factors for true happiness. The world taught me to believe in archetypes like mean girls, hot guys, rid dads, poor kids, cool crowds, and loser who sat alone at lunch. I was supposed to believe this world was real, but deep down I didn't fully buy it. In my mind a battle raged between what I was taught to believe and a deep-rooted intuition that there was something more. My inner voice was screaming, "Wake up, girl, there's a better way!""

This is my first graphic novel and WOW! This was excellent. I can totally see why people turn to graphic novels-especially when they are THIS good.

"Is that really what my hair looks like from the back?"

Ok. Confession Time.

I've never read or watched Harry Potter.

I know. I know. It's crazy! lol

I will admit that I did try when the books FIRST came out but I just couldn't get myself to finish it. I continued to try every time a new book came out because all of my friends were like, "this book is awesome!! You GOTTA read it!!" but everytime, I just couldn't finish it. So I stopped....

But this weekend, I had some time on my hands and I had to watch a movie while I passed the time....and HBO was showing some movies...you guessed it...

Harry Potter.

So I watched the first three movies and let me just say...

WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!

The movies, at least, were AWESOME! And by the third movie-I was REALLY like WOW! I am SOO excited to watch the rest of them and I am DEFINITELY going to try to read the books again....hopefully I'll stick to it this time! :) lol

Anyway, just had to share my thoughts! :) LOL

Hope everyone is having a great week!!

PS Hermione is sooo awesome! I love that girl!

If you haven't checked out my latest podcast where I talk about why I couldn't finish books like Bossypants, The Mortal Instruments, etc. then check it out here!

This is beautiful
