One of My Faves!
One of My favorite childhood books, it's all about Margaret coming of age and beginning to develop from a little girl to a young woman. My mother gave this book to me when I was around the same age and I loved it. I would recommend this book to your 9-12 year old girl so she could learn what it means to grow up and learn about changing friendships as well as her changing body. Be ready for tons of questions though about pads, periods, and bras after she's done reading it though! :)
